How does it work?

 

1) Profiles

 

Page tagging uses Java code to allow you to segment your visitors according to how they arrived at your site, for example via a search engine, from the front page of a portal, an affiliated site or external links etc.

Google analytics show you where your visitors came from, which pages were viewed and how long they stayed on the site but in order to gather statistics on which sources send visitors that buy your products and which don't, you will need customised filtering codes.

We can develop unique customised filter codes which will enable you to map and compare the different routes visitors take, segmented according to the site they originated from.

 

 

2) Goals

 

Clients objectives and goals differ greatly. One client may wish to sell products on line while another may simply wish visitors to register. We can develop unique codes which allow individual clients to specify their individual goals. These can be divided into milestones such as 'the visitor registered' followed by 'the visitor made a purchase' etc.
Milestones are not only vital for tracking the route visitors take, they can also be used to evaluate the effectiveness of your site. By measuring a visitors progress through the milestones it is possible to see at which stage they lost interest. This will identify any areas of your site that need improvment.

 

3) Filters

 

Filters can be used to further segragate visitors into geographical, demographic and  technological catagories and can be used to filter:

 

  • The number of first time visitors
  • Employees visiting the site during the course of their duties
  • Certain product categories that may perform better or worse than others.


4) Auditing codes

 

We can also design and customise unique 'ready to use' auditing codes for client's websites which automatically supply user-specific data to the web analytics system.

This also allows us to identify which keywords were entered into the search engine and compare that with which products were sold or which milestones were achieved.
